BEFRIENDING

The Richmond Consortium is now working with the Borough's Neighbourhood Care Groups to expand and develop befriending services.

Even in an area like Richmond, there are many people - and especially older people - who are lonely and isolated.  Befriending can help to fill this social gap and makes a very big difference to someone's life.  It provides a warm, supportive and trusting relationship and can often lead to renewed self confidence and help open up a range of social activities.

We urgently need volunteer befrienders from all over the Borough

Anyone can become a befriender.  All you need is a few hours a month to provide support and friendship to someone in need of company, doing and talking about things that you both enjoy. It is deeply satisfying to know just how much your time is appreciated and looked forward to.

If you'd like to find out more about becoming a befriender, please contact us.  You can do this by using the CONTACT US navigation button on the left or by telephoning or emailing us.
